Scotia Communications awarded 5 year contract for supply,
fit and management of GSM Vehicle Location Tracking Devices
to one of the UK's premier haulage companies.
The 5 year contract will include the immediate fitting of
covert devices to all vehicles in it's fleet, which will then
be tracked via password protected and secure access to a GSM
web based location gateway. This is separate from any mobile
phone the driver will use and enables the company with three
distinct advantages.
Firstly
it provides complete Fleet Management; such as fleet scheduling,
vehicle despatching and mobile workforce management.
Secondly, the tracking is not dependent on the location of
the vehicle's own mobile handset, which can easily be removed
from the vehicle.
Thirdly, the devices which are wholly supported by Scotia
Communications, also provide the company with complete peace
of mind, due to their inbuilt capability of alerting the company
should the vehicle's battery be removed, the ignition be started
without the key, or the alarm be activated and thereafter
they enable tracking of the vehicle by the company and the
Police.

Scotia Communications brought in to provide robust multi-site
VPN solution.
Scotia
Communications have successfully secured a 5 site VPN solution
with the UK's leading supplier and fabricator of industrial
textiles, boasting a 150 year tradition.
The solution
is made up of BT circuits with a central hub at the company’s
Head Office in Glasgow. They had no WAN structure in place
and needed to urgently implement a solution that would support
their key applications and future proof the business.
This
will ultimately allow them to have an integrated voice and
data network across all sites, with little further capital
investment.
